Garden of Flags for Military Heroes on the Boston Common 2022

It’s the signature community-building event! Since 2010, hundreds of volunteers have created a majestic garden of flags on Boston Common for Memorial Day weekend. Each of the 37,000+ flags we plant every year at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument represents every brave Massachusetts service member who gave his or her life defending our country since the Revolutionary War. The completed garden is a breathtaking tribute to the true meaning of Memorial Day and a powerful message of community support to the families of these fallen heroes that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

30th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Craft Festival

Memorial Day Open House

Join in for the annual Memorial Day Open House. This year, the MFA offers free admission—including access to the special exhibition “Turner’s Modern World”—for Massachusetts residents. Celebrate the holiday with art and community!

Sudbury Memorial Day Parade 2022
The Sudbury Memorial Day festivities begin early in the morning on May 30 with a salute at the Revolutionary War cemetery behind town hall. The parade will step off around 9:30 a.m. and travel to several war memorials around town before returning to Grinnell Park for a ceremony at 11 a.m. The Sudbury Memorial Day Parade, Ceremonies, and Program is held on the last Monday in May. Sudbury has formally honored its war dead for more than 100 years. The parade and ceremonies honor veterans of all wars that involved Sudbury residents starting with King Philip’s War in 1676.

Town Of Medway Memorial Day Parade
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Medway will once again have a parade leading up to their annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 30. All Medway Veterans of WWII will be honored as Grand Marshall & banners will be hung for each fallen hero along Holliston St. The parade will end with a ceremony at Matondi Square.
